A former US army fort has been rebuilt as Historic Old Fort Wayne. It is a model of a post that American forces constructed between 1815 and 1816. It is located not more than a quarter of a mile from the site of the first fort.

The Fort Wayne Dance Collective is a cutting-edge non-profit in the center of downtown Fort Wayne that began with the ideas of five women who met at a modern dance class in 1978 and grew to serve 39,000 people in 2015.
